Joachim Margot's thesis was a computer-generated animation of his own head, with facial animating using his own voice. 

This is who I visited at SGO, in Madrid, Spain, in June, 1997.  I have not heard from him or seen him since.  I saw his picture, though, on a CD of Maya Personal Learning Experience software in 2003.  I have that picture posted on another blog, named http://www.maya-1990topresent.blogspot.com/.
